Synopsis
White becomes the background for a rather 70s/80s style title card accommodating the words ‘Polterguy’, complimented by ‘Witch’ by Goblin, appears as the camera pans around to see a sub-urban cul-de-sac home. The prologue begins. A quick hip-hop montage documents an outing. We follow Peter on his excursion to his local newsagents. This trip is interrupted by an ominous phone call that triggers a reverse zoom, before being revealed that it is a joke orchestrated by his ghost housemate, Guy. Putting the phone down, he catches glimpse of a request ad from a potential tenant. We hard cut to Peter opening the fridge at home. We hear a faint audio from another room and Peter investigates. ‘Unchained Melody’ by The Righteous Brothers plays as Peter catches his housemate, Guy, in an imitate act. After a conversation about privacy, Peter reveals that his occupation is not bringing in enough money. This brings Peter to call the number on the request ad. After interviewing Michael, a bloke in his late twenties, in a classic, noir interrogation scene, all seems fine.
However, unbeknownst to Peter and Guy, the new housemate is actually a ghostophobe. The relationship between Guy and Michael deteriorates with Michael’s constant wind-ups. After noticing the hostility, Peter agrees with Guy to conspire against racist Michael. They both decide to evict him. However, this proves more difficult than hoped with Michael refusing. After brainstorming with the 'PDF for the Recently Deceased’. Tensions rise as Peter and Guy design new and intricate ways of making him leave. They conjure a convoluted plan to force Michael to leave.
The extremely overcomplicated plan begins. But goes awry at the first hurdle when Michael threatens them with the ghostbusters. Peter and Guy forget to unset a trap and Michael calls the ghostbusters to get Guy taken away. The ghostbusters arrive and in a fit of desperation Guy murders Michael. The ghostbusters mistake Michael for Guy and take him away.
